I’ve always loved bean bag chairs. I remember having one that was pink or orange, and it had that sticky vinyl, super plasticky cover that made your legs stick to it. It got a leak, of course, so little staticky beads would slowly fall out and blanket parts of the body.

As you can see, vast improvements have been made to the bean bag chair! I received this Sumo Omni chair from Sumo, a company that specializes in bean bag chairs of all shapes and sizes and colors. The Omni has a heavy-duty nylon cover and can morph into various configurations.

I haven’t tried napping on it yet, but I have sat and read a book on it, and it was super comfy. What was great was I squished the chair around so I had a head rest and a book rest (I have wimpy arms, and sometimes they get fatigued holding up a book. You think I’m kidding?).

I keep waiting for Deedle to give it a shot, but so far she has stayed away from the Sumo Omni. I think it’s a little large for her, and the easy-to-clean nylon cover probably freaks her out. Maybe she just needs a little coaching!
Doesn’t my mother make a good model? A big thank you to Sumo for the chair!

    I just love those bean bag chairs. The hotel that my husband and I stay in when we are in San Fransico has them in all of thier rooms.

    I love your mom! She’s rocking your chair girl. I think she may want it more than you, Miss Weak Arms. Aren’t you a super stud runner athlete, surely you underestimate the power in those arms of yours?

    Your mom is a great sport! Tell her thanks for modeling the chair for us! My sister had one of those vinyl ones back in the 70’s. Hers was blue. One day we came home from summer camp and our bedrooms were completely redecorated. Hers was horse-themed, except for that chair and I was SO jealous!

    ohhhh I LOVE the red! It’s like a doublewide FATBOY, which we have and love. It’s the best for reading. But I couldn’t sit in ours for the longest time because it made me itchy. I think this was from the little beans outgassing…it definitely had a scent. weird, huh?

    We have one of those, and our dog LOVES sleeping on it! He’s a wee thing, only 22 pounds, and it’s hysterical to watch him flop onto the center and sink in enough you can hardly see him.

    Your mom is super model.
    My dogs would be on it in a heartbeat. Anyplace we want to lie down, they are on it.
    Is that FLOR underfoot in the photos? How do you like it?
