Hi guys. I have turned into such a pathetic blogger! And really, I haven’t been knitting or sewing at all (though I did hem a bunch of skirts the other day. That counts, doesn’t it?). In the evenings I tend to just sprawl on the sofa and doze while the TV is on. But, perhaps things will change.
I got this Nani Iro knit fabric in Nagasaki. It’s the only piece of fabric I purchased during my recent trip to Japan! Now I need to decide what to make. I think it’d be most suited to a long-sleeve shirt, since it’s double layered and all. Any suggestions for style? I think I want to keep it pretty simple so that I can wear it for years and years and years!
ooh, that’s nice…. it would make a loverly long sleeve shirt… maybe a boat neck… or a vee-neck.. nice!!!!
I’m not sure what would make the best top with the fabric. Maybe something with a bit closer to t-shirt styling? Still long sleeve, but a more body skimming fit.
I can totally understand just being in the doze zone. I get like that every couple of months or so, when all I do when I get home is sit around and stare off into space (or the tv, but mostly just space).
Pretty. How about a long sleeve button shirt, similar to an Oxford, but with longer cuffs, and the collar more stylish with slightly longer points than an Oxford? Also, put some nice feminine shaping in. With those fun polka dots it would be a fun twist on an Oxford and have some years of wearing in it.
how about the simplicity 2593 top that angry chicken just made? I’m dying to try that one.
I’m with jan in nagasaki, my thoughts were boat neck or v-neck, or even ballet style top. All are classics.
hmm, a boat neck with 3/4 sleeves would be nice, a looser fitting garment perhaps because of the double gauze. however did you find a piece from such an older collection from nani iro? lucky!
oh, wait that’s from this year, it reminded me of the 2005 collection. must go to sleep before i write anything else to be seen by others.
