Hello, yes, so I’m a little behind. What else is new. Last week was 4th of July, and we were supposed to go to a 4th of July barbecue, but Peter wasn’t feeling well, so we stayed home in case I needed to take him to the emergency room again (he’s been 3 times in the past 2 weeks. Next time they’ll just admit him until they can figure out what is wrong with him. Suspicion is that he has pheochromocytoma, but we don’t know yet).
Anyway, back to the barbecue. I made the rhubarb cobbler from Smitten Kitchen, which, come on, I am probably one of the last people to make this. I added blueberries, too, cuz I am so patriotic. It’s a very fun recipe to make. The biscuit dough has two hard-boiled egg yolks in it! How crazy is that? There was a bit of cobbler left over, so even though we missed the ‘cue, we at least got to sample the cobbler.
I had to look up pheochromocytoma–it doesn’t sound like the kind of diagnosis that your doctor comes to easily. Fingers crossed for you and Peter. Well, at least he gets to eat yummy things.
I hope everybody is feeling better or at least gets a diagnosis. I cannot wait to try this, bring on blueberry season.
That’s a beautiful cobbler! I’m fixin’ to make the Raspberry Buttermilk Cake tomorrow, but I’ll use blueberries from the garden instead.
Wishing Peter better health, soon.
I’ve made this cobbler. It was really tasty (though I don’t remember if I used rhubarb or other fruit on hand). The biscuits were surprisingly good despite the hard boiled egg. I wasn’t expecting it to come out so flaky and delicious.
Poor Peter (and you too!)! I hope he’s feeling better and they’ve solved the medical issues.
Your cobbler is freaking adorable, it’s a plus it was delicious too. Must look up that recipe.
Take care!
cobbler = pretty.
i think he’ll be cured if you make him eat that cobbler morning, noon, and night!!! it was the best!!
Gosh, that cobbler looks delicious! Pheochromocytoma, huh? The wikipedia description didn’t help me much, but I hope it gets resolved soon and that Peter is on the mend soon.
