Today was supposed to be all about sewing, but I ended up having to do some work instead. All was not lost, however, as I made a little field trip to Target and found these irresistible goodies:
How cute are they?!? And they had two additional designs, too! I had to stare at them for a long time to decide between the salad plates and the soup bowls. I opted for the soup bowls, since they can be used for salad AND soup or pasta. Some other fun stuff at Target included a red tinsel Christmas tree (just like the one I got from Chiasso last year for twice the price!) and the pink angora Isaac Mizrahi hoodie (that I would have purchased had my size been in stock. Grrr).
And, drumroll please, my order from ThreadBear arrived!!
I cannot say enough about their great customer service and excellent prices. Now I can get started on the Bucket o’ Chic! The colors look a little weird, I know, but I think it will work, especially in my reality of bizarre color combinations. I am SO in love with the Fizz colors. It looks like candy, and I want to devour it!

Oh! Love that Fizz…I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it here. Orange and pink together REALLY works, you know. Very retro!
Mariko, you crack me up. Guess what I bought at Target this week because it was in my size?!? Love it! And my “Lotus Pink” and “Orange You Glad” BoC is gonna make it complete. Finishing the top of it as we speak. I’m making the felted version. Scary big. Right now I can wear it as a miniskirt. Send good shrinkin’ vibes my way . . .
Way to go Mariko! Wear it with your Wannabe.
that fizz stuff is very cool! I love the colors. And for a split hopeful second there, I thought you were going to tell us you got the yarn at Target too. That’s all Target needs to make it perfect I think. Well…maybe!
Cute bowls, not kitschy smiling reindeer…made a pasta recipe from epicurious the other day and it said 8 first course servings, 4 main dish…uh, you mean folks make more than one dish at a time!?!…love Target…
Your pink and my pink look the same, though I LOVE the FIZZ with it! Doesn’t look funny to me, will be gorgeous. If you’ve not started the hat, don’t make the band too long. I made the band to fit snugly and it stretched when brim was added. Next time I’ll make it maybe an inch shy of what I think is right. Perhaps it stretched because of the fur, still fits well enough not to be ripped…also made the band 5″ wide…but your head may not be melonsized…
Hurry, can’t wait to see it!
