oh so clever

Look! No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. There is indeed liquid in that coffee filter, and no, it’s not leaking all over the counter. How can that be? Well, it’s because I am using a Clever Coffee Dripper, and it is indeed clever.
I seem to collect coffee-making gadgets, and when I read about this one, I had to give it a try. It’s a lot like your regular filtercone dripper except it allows the coffee grounds to steep via some magical, patented drip mechanism that only drips out your coffee when you have the filter over a mug. I wasn’t expecting a huge difference in taste, but I have to say I was pretty surprised by how smooth and delicious the resulting cup was!
I ordered my Clever Coffee Dripper from ZombieRunner, which is an awesome store because they sell a winning combination of coffee and running gear. They also frequently run free shipping specials. You can also get the Clever Coffee Dripper from Sweet Maria’s, which also has a TON of information about the ins and outs of using the dripper. I suffered from a bit of information overload from the videos, but they are helpful. In the end, I didn’t weigh my grounds or change the grind or anything, and I still got great coffee, so don’t be scared!

I was given a teapot called Ingenuitea that does the same. It’s made for loose leaf tea, but I see no reason it wouldn’t work for coffee. I may have to experiment with that tomorrow morning…

I used to have the IngenuiTea as well, but I drink more coffee than tea. I will have to check this out!

We use a coffee sock at my house. same concept but its fabric and has a handle. you should try it, though if you do know that it only starts making amazing coffee when it starts turning brown, so make coffee with it a few times/ soak it in the coffee before you actually drink some!
