A couple weeks ago I started reorganizing my sewing room and got rid of several large garbage bags full of fabric. I still need to weed through some more fabric plus all my yarn. It felt good to get rid of all that fabric, but then what do I do? I go to Fabric Depot and get MORE fabric. Some of it (the two on the left) are from the outdoor sale and are intended for fitting and experimenting, and the one on the far right is for a pattern my mother brought back from Japan. I will try not to let these fabrics sit for years on end (“try” being the operative word).

wait. outdoor sale? What!? How did I miss that!? Dang school needs to stop eating my life! 😉 I need to freakin’ graduate already! And what’s this about “all your yarn”???
I really need to take a look at destashing my fabric. I have a sewing machine, but I have never stopped feeling a bit uncomfortable at it.
Of course, I don’t really want to get rid of the fabric, so I need to find some cheap cotton fabric and just sew straight lines and curves until I feel like I know what I’m doing.
fabric goes out, fabric comes in. you know you didn’t think destashing was just going to result in a smaller supply with no new purchases.
This post is motivating me to trek on out to The Depot and see if there are any outdoor sale gems that I cannot be with out. Fun!
I love my fabric stash! I have “hauled” and moved fabric cross-country on more than one occasion. I have given fabric away. Does this stop me from adding MORE fabric to my stash? Of course not. I just love fabric and being able to search through my stash when I’m ready to create something. If I don’t find just what I’m looking for there, guess what I do!
You have a sneaky stash too?!?!
Glad I am not the only one… why just last week I stopped at the fabric shop for some buttons and a few zippers to finish stuff off with…. and fabric jumped at me!
I brought it home….. LOL
