Peter has been out of town for a couple days visiting his brother, so Deedle and I have been fending for ourselves. It’s not very pretty. I am basically a lazy person, and the idea of cooking myself a meal and then having to wash pots and pans is not appealing. The first night I nuked a Trader Joe’s calzone, then last night I had a toasted cheese sandwich (too lazy to even grill it in a pan!) and Dole Tropical Fruit Salad (I have a thing for canned fruit). Tonight, though, I actually made some pasta, but I was too lazy to have a salad. Thank goodness he comes home tomorrow!
Have you made your New Year’s resolutions? I don’t always make them. I think I am more of a process-oriented person than a goal-oriented one. I did, however, make some last year, and I think I met most of them! One I will repeat for 2003: drink more water (are you reading this, Carolyn?). I will also have to add something about working on my time management skills! So what is on your list?

Poor baby! Though when you have to fend for yourself you can do things that you would ordinarily wouldn’t do when your significant other is gone. Like staying in your pajamas as long as you like or eating the dessert first (you get the idea).
Resolutions? Agree with you. Don’t ordinarily make them. I’m with you on the water. My Achilles’ heel is spending (as in Visa card). Been working on that for over a year (or two!). Lastly (and most importantly) passion or being passionate about life (what drives you). Felice anno nuovo! (Happy New Year).
I don’t cook when it’s just me, either. As for resolutions…hmm. I want to get better about getting things done when I say I’m going to. I mean, there’s procrastination, and then there’s me.
YUP, just as i try to take a sip of the leftover water from yesterday. Blech! Lukewarm water! Blech! I’ll have to throw out this 3/4 of the way full 1 liter and go downstairs and pay $2 for a new one!! 🙂 you know if you google about hating water there is some guy who has written about it on his blog a number of times (weirdo or what – ha ha ha ha – just kidding – we all know i’m “one of him”). OK, let me get back to my hot chocolate… 🙂
No resolutions for me. Either I’m already perfect or just a big ole lazy ass. This is not for me to decide. 😉
Yeah, I’m too often food lazy, washing up lazy. Yesterday I had to run out & pay a nearly overdue bill – I just picked up a baked potato & chili at Wendy’s for Gram & I on the way back. I have a bag full of plastic cutlery as evidence of how many baked spudz we’ve eaten this past year :-O
Maybe I’d better resolve to be a less lazy cook! Rather make cookies & such.
How about resolving to eat more chocolate, or buy more shoes…or handbags…resolutions aren’t for me, I’m more like Nike, Just do it! Now! Hurry!
Happy and healthy new year!
My resolutions include doing more work AT work (I hear they might give out merit increases this year for a change), and knitting something FOR MYSELF at last!
Rodney never goes anywhere so I can’t relate to the bachelorette life.
Still looking for those S’mores candy bars!
