Thank you, Brainy Alison, for sending these delightful goodies!
Can you tell how cute the card is? Two lovely Japanese knitting magazines, and yes, that one magazine really does say GIRLY KNIT on it. I want to knit EVERYTHING in both of these magazines! Here are some of my fave items (please excuse the photography, but I was trying to hold the mag open and take the photo at the same time):
It’s funny, since I don’t generally like girlie things, but how cute is that tank with the little flowers at the bottom? Ahhh, so many things to knit!
Thanks for the feedback on bpt/blt. The fabulous Becky was correct in her assessment–the cables are knit correctly; however, I knit front cables and back cables at differing tensions, and that’s why one looks fatter than the other. Lopsidedness is the story of my life. At any rate, I am not a perfectionist, so I am not too bothered. Please note, though, that if I run into any of you, and I am wearing the sweater, I don’t want any of you staring at my chest (er, rather, my cables)!

Love that Blue sweater on the cover of girlyknits! Can’t wait to see what you knit up first~
Those Japanese knitting magazines are so great! I love that handbag. Great..now I lust for Japanese and French knitting mags.
I think that you bpt/blt turned out fine. Just looking at yours has inspired me to run to elann to order some yarn to make one for myself.
I can’t wait to see your Rogue progress.
I love the purse. Please bring the magazines to Portland with you!
those mags look terrific! you know, i LIVE in japan, why haven’t i seen those before? i’m even LOOKING for knit mags…
Oh wow. I’ll take those mags off your hands anytime. That purse is killer. So’s the tank top.
That little tank with the flowers is gorgeous, which one are you going to make first?
Oooh, I love the little purse. It’s so cute.
I like the bag, too. And the jersey-style sweaters in the magazine–I keep thinking about making one of those, maybe with a little funny intarsia design on the front.
Hi Mariko,
Ilove those Japanese knitting books too. I often buy them even though I don’t understand Japanese. There is a cute crocheted hat pattern that one of these days I will figure out how to make with the symbols.
The Japanese are so clever with patterns! I remember seeing on another site, I think it was at Tricoquelicot, a Japanese pattern book with cute illustrations for children. One of the patterns was for a sweater that had a world atlas map on it. So cool!
Can’t wait to see what you knit from your new books. Maybe the tank top?
I love the tank! Are the flowers embroidered?
Oh how cute! Spring has sprung at your house…hmmm a trip to the Japantown bookstore may be in order….
I vote that you make the tank top and wear coordinating polka dot capri pants with it…and the bag, for a complete outfit.
Oh my goodness, how could you resist something called “Girly Knit!” I know I couldn’t, LOL! Cute tops too. 🙂
Hey! Carolyn got that silly knitting book with the couple in it from Alison too. I like that two-tone sweater that you like as well–I think it’s about the only thing hand-knitted that Rodney might wear, except it would have to be a solid color.
Report on yesterday’s adventures coming soon. I’m still kind of drunk from the Marly’s hot cocoa!
I have the same GirlyKnits! We get a rather large selection of Ondori knitting books here in Malaysia and I absolutely love their patterns. I posted about a few books I have on one of my past entries and GirlyKnits was my fave :o)
I want that tank top with flowers soooo bad I can taste it. When we entered Winter this year, I thought, oh, I’ll hate to go back to summer knitting…. but now I want to! That’s to die for.
The tank top is TOO CUTE! Now I’m gonna have to make a trip to Kinokuniya to see if I can find those magazines!
are these fabulous magazines available many places in the US??? I’ve got to get me some!!! Must… have… girly… knit. Sigh…
i got that romance one also. isn’t it adorable? i love how the boy is like soooo happy in some of the photos. and i love the gray sweater with the cable up the middle on the girl where the boy is wearing a two tone one next to her
I want those so badly! I need to save up b/c shipping from amazon.co.jp is so much ^__^. I even have a shopping cart saved with those exact zines in them hahaha!
