I’m gonna swatch that yarn right outta my hair

I got some yarn today that I had ordered from elann. It’s not CHEAP yarn but DISCOUNTED yarn*. Heh. I got the Schoeller Stahl Cecil, another cotton/acrylic blend.

I’m planning to make sweater #13 out of the latest Rebecca. It really doesn’t look like it’s going to be enough yarn, but we’ll see. I guess I can always make a short-sleeved sweater if I run out. Since I couldn’t find a good photo of the sweater, I will instead force you to look at a picture of sweet Deedle pie:

*This morning I attempted to order some discounted Rowan All-Seasons Cotton from Patternworks, but it was GONE in a matter of hours! I guess my dream to knit something with Rowan remains on hold …

    Deedle has a very serious look on his face. I’ve been checking out the yarn sale at Patternworks too and was somewhat relieved that all the yarn I wanted to get was gone.

    I was actually hoping there was just some kind of terrible malfunction on the Patternworks page and that things weren’t actually sold out…

    Love the shade of the elann yarn…and I confess, I am responsible for the disappearance of the last 6 skeins of ASC in Valour….*blushing from guilt*
    But I missed the Koigu grab bag last week, so that sorta made up for it. Damned Patternworks….

    That’s a cool pix of Deedle–appears he’s on the alert for more Rowan ASC!
    have you swatched with the cecil yet? I love that yarn–it’s a bit splitty, but no matter. Love the color you picked.

    So,why don’t you order from Colourway or Up Country in the U.K.? Even not in the sale it’s cheaper than in the U.S. There’s also Yarnworld – link on my blog.
    When Colourway have their sales [ you can get on a notify list] the prices are great.Even with postage to the States.And you lot don’t pay duty either.
    Just an enabling thought…!

    deedle is SUPER cute! this message is from the mom of Gummi and Gary (who is new and doesn’t yet have a dogster page, I’m waiting until I get to know him a teensy bit better). I haven’t gotten the yarn you sent me that info for…I have decided against it because I spin…I need to spin that yarn…I just ordered some superwash merino for that very reason…now I have to figure out the striping! thanks for the reading material!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -e
