Though it was nearly 100 degrees today, I decided to turn on the oven to make some Jammers, buttermilk biscuits with jam baked into them. I’ve been wanting to make these for a while, and I just happened to have some buttermilk. Mine weren’t quite as tasty as the originals, which are from Grand Central Bakery in Portland and Seattle.

You’ve combined two of my favorite things, biscuits and jam! You’re a genius…
they look plenty tasty to me!
Yum. What a great concept. They look delicious. Reminds me of Mom’s homemade biscuits (except the jam was not baked in). I might have to bake these for my next knitting bee.
they look good. i love the texture jelly gets when it’s baked. yum
There is nothing I love more than homemade biscuits. When the page first loaded I thought they were thumbprint or bird’s nest cookies–another big favorite.
Once again…. you have made my mouth water.
*SLURP!* 😉
Those look delicious- Peter is one lucky guy to have such a great cook in the house! Just wanted to say thank you for your blog- I love reading it and I just copied the totebag tutorial to make some bags for my knitting circle. You rock!
I agree with Rachel; there’s nothing in the world better than baked jam, whether in biscuits, hamantaschen or Pop Tarts.
Reminds me of the Peanut Butter and Jelly Thumbprints (cookies) I made a few weeks ago. They were the BEST COOKIES EVER… they tasted like you were eating a pb&j sandwich posing as a cookie! Good thing I was sending most of them out to the boyfriend in Iraq.. because I think I could have easily eaten the whole batch myself.
Those look soooo good! But the thought of baking — ugh. I could probably put dough out on my roof and it would bake. Hmmm…
Wow, I love thumbprint cookies in a crazy way, and I really like biscuits, so these are a godsend – two of my favorite food groups, butter and jam. Thanks, Mariko!
