I have no buyer’s remorse regarding my yarn purchase at ArtFibers. Yahoo! Here’s some more about the yarns:
This is Kyoto, which is silk, mohair, and wool. Isn’t it amazing? What you can’t tell is that it kind of glows. The color of it actually reminds me of an Urban Decay lipstick in the color “gash.” I’m thinking this will be my Gash Sweater! It’s going to be a little body-skimming cardie with 3/4 length sleeves. No buttons or zip, just a girlie little cardie.
And here is Sorbet, a microfiber and nylon blend. It is super soft and squooshy! It’s going to be a raglan cardie with green sleeves, green patch pockets, green collar, and pink body. I hope it doesn’t come out too clownlike. Eh, who am I kidding? I kind of like clowns (or at least clown colors).
Those yarns look yummy!
those yarns are definitely luscious. when you get a chance, please post photos of the projects.
I want to go to ArtFibers. I want some Zachary’s. Maybe I need a trip home.
My goodness. Kyoto looks like it would be perfect for a hot l’il body-skimmin’ number. I want one. And I think your idea for the Sorbet is awesome. I don’t think it will look clownlike. I think it’ll look like Easter candy. (OK, that’s supposed to be a good thing.)
those yarns are beautiful! how many spools per sweater did you figure?
Mmmm…delicious looking yarn candy. I love the pink and green idea! In fact I’ve bought pink and green wool with the same idea in mind…great minds and all.
LOL! I love that you are referencing Urban Decay colors as a guide for the color and shine of your Tokyo yarn. How are those Eyeko markers working out? Chanel’s new lip ink pads are seriously tempting me, as are their liquid eyeshadows…
I need to learn to knit! Mariko, have you ever shared how you learned or how long you’ve been knitting? Did you/do you take any classes?
Mmm, Zachary’s! Might have to get some this weekend. 🙂 Congrats for finishing the marathon!!! I’d love to try one some day…
Hi Mariko,
I’ve been reading your blog for a few months and you are so funny! I live in SF and have not yet gone to Artfibers, though I’ve heard of it. I go yarn shopping at Cottage Yarns in South SF.
Can’t wait to see what you make with the new purchases!
