Though I haven’t been knitting a whole lot, I thought I’d share my latest project. I’m working on Stripes Go Round from Interweave (spring? summer? 2004, anyway). I am using some Classic Elite Star that I got last year. It’s sproingy stuff, since it has 1% lycra in it. Here it is so far:
That green is the start of some random striping. I wasn’t sure I’d have quite enough of the burgundy/maroon/wine (that color description is just for Rachael), so I thought I’d incorporate some stripes, since it would be rather unpleasant to continue with one color only to run out at the very end. I usually don’t gravitate toward this maroon color, but I think it’ll be okay.
Okay, enough of that! If you feel like doing some shopping, here are a couple of ideas:
– Action Hero Melissa is selling some of her crocheted flowers and knitted kerchiefs on her blog, so go check them out! Act fast, since they are sure to sell quickly.
– I got a message from Mary at FoxyKnits that she just returned from a koigu-buying trip in Canada. Apparently she cleaned out the barn and has koigu coming out her ears! FoxyKnits is where I got my Caryl’s Kerchief kit, a great and fun-to-knit kit. So if you have a hankering for some koigu, contact Mary!

Burgundy/maroon/wine…. all good things. That striping is going to be fun I just know it.
Just wanted to say I love your website! so much knitty goodness!
Oooh, spongey yarn. I love the sound of it—-must get some for myself…… probably makes a nice stretchy sweater. Yum!
You know I love anything burgundy/maroon/wine. Heck, our college team was the Maroons! I’m sure it will be great as I also love random stripes. 🙂
I like that Star color! Stripes are your friend. I enjoyed working with the Star, but I think it shrinks up quite a bit in length when washed. The turntleneck I made out of it is rather shorter than planned. It’s either shrinkage or I’m a bad measurer. I’ve got plenty of the apple green left over if you want/need it.
wowie! are you going to make your own sort of stripey thingy on stripesgo round? it looks like it’ll look very nice with the random striping as you like to call it 😀 can’t wait to see it finished!
