When I got back from Portland, I was greeted by a pile of junk mail and a few surprises. One of the fun packages I got was from Hillary of Wee Wonderfuls, my partner in Japanese fabric crime. She sent me this beautiful apron that she made:
I don’t know if you can see all the lovely sashiko she did on it. It is way too pretty to cook in, so maybe I will wear it as sort of a craft apron? Peter thinks it looks like part of a samurai costume.

Some samurai…ATTACK OF THE PINK!!!! Haha sorry, the image is just really funny in my mind.
The apron’s oh so cute! Lately I have been finding that I am just attracted to all things pink…really, you’ve got to try really hard to make pink unattractive.
Hillary’s work is AMAZING! That apron is AWESOME and oooooohhhh so PINK! 🙂
Very beautiful work! My grandmother used to have ‘good’ aprons. They were finer materials, and she wore them for serving the food after it was prepared – usually at holidays or special dinners. She had an everyday apron that covered more and was more durable that she wore in the kitchen. When she was done cooking, she’d just take that off and put on her fresh ‘good’ apron to cover her skirt and look great.
It’s not an apron, it’s a Domestic Goddess Cape! But it’s beautiful nonetheless. 🙂
yeah the apron is cute but can i have that lovely fleecy thing you’re wearing up top? it’s raining AGAIN and that looks just right
You always have the cutest stuff!!
Hey: next year’s Halloween Costume-a pink Samurai
oh you are the lucky one who gets that apron! i just fell in love with it when hillary made it and posted it on her site. (though i seem to say that about everything she makes!)
just wanted to say lucky you and that i found your site through weewonderfuls and am enjoying it very much. now when i walk down candy aisles i think of you!
I think Meg had a great idea. You could use it at birthday parties to keep the candles in, etc.
wow!
LOVELY!
🙂
That is a really cute apron 🙂 I dont usually wear aprons (although I should since I always get food on me when I cook) but I’ve been seeing some really cute ones lately. What can I say? I’m a girl, its all about the fashion….
