We had our book group holiday potluck tonight, so I decided to try out a new cake recipe. Here’s the Chocolate-Covered Gingerbread Cake from Bon Appetit:
It was pretty moist and delicious. The chocolate ganache was pretty darn yummy and paired nicely with the gingerbread. Everyone seemed to like it, and I’d definitely make it again!
That cake looks so delicious!
Looks delicious! Gotta loved candied ginger. Is that what it is on top? I use an epicurious recipe for chocolate chip cookies that have chopped crystallized ginger in them, and people can’t get enough. They keep asking me what is that little extra thing in their cookie that tastes so darned good? Chocolate and ginger go sooo well together!
Wow. That looks great!
that cake looks so fucking good i’m actually wishing i lived in paso right now. i’m sure i’ll get over it…eventually.
Gingerbread cake is one of my favorite cakes– I never had it with chocolate ganache before, but that picture makes me drool. I think I’ll have to make some for the holidays, too. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
Wow, what a gorgeous cake!
I’m drooling….
Remind me not to read your site before breakfast.

And now I’m hungry! That cakes looks very yummy!
Oh, that looks tasty! That looks like candied ginger on top, but I bet candied orange peel would be good too, and a nice contrast to the ginger in the cake.
Ooh… Yum! I just love reading your blog and getting inspired for knitting and baking. I might just try this recipe. It mixes the things I love most – baking, holiday themes and chocolate!
