I got my socks! I got my socks!
I was lucky enough to be allowed to participate in a little sock swap with some major league sock knitters. Thank goodness for affirmative action (socks are not my forte). As you can see, the candy-colored socks I received are splendiferous. They were knit by ace sock knitter Theresa. She also sent along some Frango chocolates!
There’s going to be some baking happening Friday. I suspect others will be baking and cooking as well? Whatcha all making?
Adorable socks! They look just like your style 🙂 As for baking… chocolate peppermint pinwheel cookies, eggnog cheese pie, cucidati and italian pillows – yum!
baking! I think thumbprint cookies and snickerdoodles this year. Usually, I make Christmas cookie cutter cookies.
Cute socks
I will be making the classic Christmas Poke Cake!
I’m finished baking…I’m making pierogi and all of the rest of a huge Slovakian Christmas Eve meal. Merry Christmas!
Yow! Cool socks. Love the ruffley cuff. We are making the family recipes for cookies, one kind which is called “the ones with the powdered sugar on top”, another kind called “the chocolate ones,” and of course “the pecan ones.” All three have been present at every Christmas of my life and are deeelicious.
Did you know that your blog was in an article about good food blogs! I am back in my hometown (Madison Wisc) for Xmas and picked up the local free weekly (Isthmus) today… and the food column had a little review of your blog (with quotes) right there in it. You’re a superstar now…at least in Madison!
Very cool socks! I love the colors . . .
I just finished squishing (cooled) baked sweet potatoes out of their skins so that tomorrow I can put together a sweet potato thing (it’s kind of like an apple crisp, but with sweet taters?). I’m also making my now-famous-in-Hub’s-family corn casserole, which is easy peasey. That’ll go together on Saturday morning!
Yet another fantastic pair of swap socks! Stripey candy-colored socks with a turn-down cuff are on my sock binge list… Very cool.
Will be making the traditional Matthes kids family sugar cookies decorated with masses of icing/candies/sprinkles. Complete sugar rush and worth the yearly wait 😉
Those socks are so you! Enjoy them. Happy holidays!!
Superb socks ! Just right for you.
Those socks are super eggplanty.
Me? Baking? HA! I need you to come over.
Have a wonderful holiday!
Cute socks 🙂 As for my baking, last night I whipped up a batch of White Chocolate Cherry Biscotti, and this afternoon I’ll be attempting my holy grail of baking: sugar cookies.
Baby, you scored! Happy holidays!
your socks are lovely! perfect for your feet!
my daughter (chef-in-training) made chocolate chip muffins, brownies and yellow cake with choco icing. yummy! Today, she’s making me a german chocolate cake for my birthday yesterday. double-yummy!
i have to whip up some italian honey balls, yum! other than that i am all done, whew! i made the white trash yesterday. i had a vision of individual white pieces (i think that is what i saw in some link i happened on). the reality was not so white but cream, semi covered clumped pieces. still yummy! just didn’t look the way i thought it would. we will see how it goes over tonight. Merry Christmas!
Baking? I wish. I’m at work. All day, since I have stuff to finish before I leave on my vacation tomorrow night. Though I guess I’d have to finish up any baked goods before leaving, so it’s probably better for my tummy this way.
Wonderful socks! I love how Theresa got the stripes to line up on the heel.
Yay for socks!
I did all my baking this past week, incl. the PB cup cookie recipe (yay for mini-pans). Also busted out some choc chip, oatmeal choc chip, rice crispy treats, and choc. butterscotch haystacks. Mmm… happy baking! -t
Wicked cool socks!
