It’s hard to believe the midwest and the east coast are buried under snow, cuz around here it got up to 70 degrees this afternoon! Well, hopefully you people out east enjoy the cold weather.
Anyway, it IS still cold in the mornings, and sometimes when I’m at my desk my hands get really cold, so I decided I needed some tipless gloves. Following the pattern in Interweave Knits winter 2003, I produced these:
I used Dale of Norway Daletta yarn. I decided I am not particularly adept at knitting with tiny little needles, and I have ladders and holes and such, but I still rather like my tipless gloves, and I think they will do the trick on those cool mornings!
One last thing: here is a knitting cartoon that my brother sent to me. Pretty funny.

dude! i so love the random striping and the random finger coloring. very fun!!!
Those are great! Once you wash them, I’ll bet the ladders become less noticeable.
What Claudia said !
Washing and wearing will even things out.
They’re fab !
I speak for the people of the east when I say we looooooove the cold weather. My favorite is when it’s around zero – those degrees are so pesky that it’s best to have as few of them as possible.
How fun and cool. I like the alternating colored fingers on your left hand. Some kind of fingerless mitts or gauntlets need to be in my future. I need to dig out that copy of IK.
I’m glad you are getting the warm weather too! When I mentioned I was at the beach on my blog last week I got some nasty comments from those East-coasters! LOL. 😉
Random striping rocks – – those are terrific!
Ooh, they’re fun! Of course, if you wore them out here, the tips of your fingers would fall off. Yikes!
again, the sight of green grass and naked arms leaves me unable to comment on those great spirit fingers! bbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Love the wacky striping. Very avant-garde and keeps you entertained while knitting.
Too cold for tip-less mitts here in NYC. I even succombed and wore a hat yesterday. xoxo Kay
OMG! It is spirit fingers and those appear to be the colors of our alma mater. Clever girl.
Those gloves are lovely! You’d never know that it was a difficult thing for you, they are just lovely 🙂
Hey, I’m making tipless gloves too! Only mine will have a convertible mitten top. I love the matching-but-not colors.
These are not spirit fingers, THESE are spirit fingers!
Cool random striping! I like Peter’s bag too. Very clever!
