Yesterday I got a phone call from the post office. They said they had an express package for me, and I could either pick it up or just wait to have it delivered on Monday. Hmm, express package? I figured it was probably work-related or just some marketing scam. I asked who it was from, and when they told me, I ran out the door and jumped in the car. Look what it was!
Gobs of matcha goodies, courtesy of Molly in Japan. So far I’ve tried the chewy milky candies coated with matcha powder (super yum!) and the matcha Pocky. Now you knitters out there probably spotted that little non-candy-related item. It’s a mini pompom maker!
It only took me a couple of minutes to whip up those little pompoms! These pompom makers are the coolest little gizmos! Much easier than winding around and around a plastic donut (Susan Bates pompom maker! Grrrrr). Now I’m afraid I have to list pompoms on my current list of fixations (along with zippers and webbing).
How cute!!!
I want to try Green Tea stuff but I haven’t been around Mitsuwas lately! Ahh!!!
The pom pom maker looks cool!
Have fun!
Maybe you can make a pom-pom zipper pull for a bag with a webbing for the handle!
oh my gosh! The pompom maker looks fun!
Lucky!
Matcha Pocky??? I gotta get me some of that! We had chocolate mousse Pocky tonight. 🙂
what cute little pom poms. and can’t ever have enough green tea flavs around.
Green Kit Kats? Do they taste the same? Have fun with your new goodies!
matcha pocky?!?? you know how i used to haunt chinatown NYC and i’ve never found it in that flavor!!
Lucky you! Molly doesn’t send me packages like that! (Guess I’ll have to get my own….)
Yummy! I just ordered some matcha Pocky and Melty Kiss. I can’t wait! Let us know how the passion fruit Kit Kats are – I’ve been curious to try them, too. Don’t you love great mail?!?
Pom poms and zippers and webbing…oh MY!
Ooooh. Just think of all the cute little pom pom animals you can make now!!!!
You are so easy to entertain. All we have to do is send you food and you are happy.
Lucky! So much great stuff. And that is such a cute pom-pom maker. I just tried the passion fruit kit kats they were yummy but the green tea ones were so much better!
Oh wow! Green tea Kitkats! I saw those on j-list and I wondered if they’d be good.
That pom pom maker looks so great! Now I’m off to search the web to find one!
Hallo, I have read your blog from some time and i see amazing things here 🙂
those mini poms AND foremost the mini pom maker made me think oh i just have to write! i’m obsessed by poms, and recently i’m losing my sleep after making the “perfect mini pom” (yes i can be compulsive like that). now that pom maker will populate my dreams, i know.
ciao!
Green tea and mini pompoms! Lucky…
Hey!
I was just going through my email, came across your old message and decided to check out what you’ve been up to lately. The day I check is the day you post about more green tea goodness! Enjoy!

Take a look at this link – I guess Susan Bates got your vibes and made something like the Clover pom pom maker that comes in a box. Saw it at Beverly Fabrics the other day.
Wow! what a wonderful present – so springy and green!
I enjoy your blog so much – sewing and knitting!
Cool. Now I know what to get my nephews/friends when I go back to America at the end of this month. I’ve been trying to decide (chopsticks? no.) I’ve been in Japan for a year and a half and I don’t really notice green tea/cheesecake kitkats anymore. But the lively responses here tell me I shouldn’t overlook the small (green) things!!
Thanks for the inspiration, everybody.
i love matcha, especially the meltykiss. omg drool, gotta get those at mitsuwa or ranch99!!
🙂 that’s a neat-o pompom maker.. i’ve been looking for one of those.
Glad you liked it!! Whoops, I guess I’d better send my mom more mail…
What a great package of treats! I am SO jealous..everything looks yummy. And that pom pom maker is awesome too. I wanna make some. have a good day girl!
Aha, is this the first mention of work in your blog? How do you manage to fit that in? By the way, what did you think of the Miyuki Miyabe book? I noticed you’re not ‘reading’ it anymore. Keep on enjoying the matcha flavour! jill in tsukuba
Looks so yummy! I am feel green with envy. I just got some matcha powder this weekend to try those muffins…though I’m really craving a green tea Kit Kat!
Green tea kit kats are my absolute FAVOURITE thing ever. I have bought about 20 of them for rations, in case they stop making them. Enjoy. 🙂
woah, those pompom makers are so good! i totally need to get one of them! and i’m super jealous of all your j-snacks! they all look so good. i want some!

Oooh! Thank you, Terry, for the link! I am for sure obsessing about pompoms.
