My mother’s birthday is Sunday (the first day of spring!), so I made her a little sushi outfit.
The bottoms are pajama bottoms, but the top is a regular T-shirt. I hope it doesn’t confuse her to have mixed category clothing. Here’s a closer look at the shirt:
The fabric is 100% knit fabric by munki munki. I ordered it from Sewzanne’s Fabrics.
I am making molasses spice cookies right now for the van of wearable art ladies. This should be an adventure tomorrow!

Those are quite cute. I’m sure your mom will love them. (BTW, I am sitting here now in pajama bottoms and a long sleeve t-shirt. Though now that I think of it, my kids often consider me somewhat confused…hmmm.)
I LOVE the sushi set! I was just looking at Reprodepot fabrics this morning, loving all the cute prints and trying to figure out how I could fit sewing back into my busy life (slow day at work).
love the jams. i will sew this year! i need to dust off the machine today! those are just too cool.
you really are soooo sooo talented. everyday i’m more amazed with what you create!!
Very adorable! I’ve been drooling over the munki munki fabric and you may have just sent me over the edge 😉
Wow. I’m blown away by the tshirt and I love the piping!
I love the Pj’s, I am curious do you line your pj’s with anything? Like interfacing or other fabric. Also, the pattern you used, is it just a basic Pj pattern? Thanks in advance.
Super cute ‘jamas! I like the piping on the bottoms!!!
Cute cute! I love the outfit! You are so talented Mariko, is there anything you can’t do?!?! Makes me want to try my first piece of clothing now, and also buy knit sushi fabric. Happy Birthday to your lucky mom!
Schweeeeet! My mom’s birthday is on Sunday too, as well as my boyfriend’s father! Hope your mom has a wonderful day — I’m sure she will with the sushi outfit! I wish I had time to make my mom something but she’s coming over for dinner in…oh… about 3 hours! ACK! Must clean! Must clean!
Adorable!!!!
You are such a good daughter. If your mom is anything like mine, I’d expect to see her at the grocery store in her pajama pants and t-shirt.
I didn’t realize that munki munki had knit jersey stuff. Those PJs look nice and comfy.
Mariko – you are sew amazing! These PJs look so comfy and I’m so envious of that trip to the fabric warehouse. It looks like a great deal of fun. Hey… the Peeps are out. Have you had your fix yet?
