There is nothing more pleasant than spending a Sunday afternoon sewing. I am digging the new configuration of the MPR (multipurpose room), and it is much more conducive to sewing! Today I made this skirt:
I put a little ribbon and bow on it in an attempt to mimic these from Garnet Hill. The pattern is New Look 6345, which I bought last year and have used for several skirts. The skirt sits on the hips rather than around the waist (I detest having anything around my waist), so it’s very slouchy and comfy. The fabric is cotton with a wee bit of lycra in it, and I received it by accident. I ordered polka dotted cotton lycra from Sewzanne’s, and they sent this polka dotted fabric instead. They sent me the correct stuff AND said I could keep this piece. Score!
Very nice! (…and why haven’t I received the spring Garnet Hill catalog???)
Wow, that skirt is sooo cute! I think I have to go fabric shopping so that I can spend my summer vacation in the sewing room at school!!
very sweet..:)
How do you put the ribbon on? It looks so neat and perfect!
That looks super-fantastic! The bow is such a great touch, I’m curious how you did it?
I spent my Sunday sewing too but I just made weird patchwork potholders. Your skirt is great!
Adorable!
What a cute little skirt! And the little ribbon plus bow is the perfect touch.
Absolutely LOVE it! Great job! Thanks for sharing the pattern number…off I go to Scottsdale Walmart to find it. I am so jealous of your mad sewing skills! :)xo
So girly!
Your skirt is adorable! It makes me want to break out the machines and get some summery things made myself!
That skirt ROCKS! I love it! The bow adds so much to it. Me want one!!
Ever since I saw the Garnet Hill catalog I’ve been wanting to do the same thing. Yours came out beautiful!

It doesn’t look like the free Frosties did you any harm, my dear eggplant. xoxo Kay
