I have a nice little stash of vintage fabrics. I dug into it the other day to make a little duffel bag:
I lined it with some heavy nylon, so it sorta kinda holds its form. I have enough fabric remaining to make some shorts!
On another note, I thought I’d try to improve my posture by purchasing one of these Sissel SitFit Plus cushion thingies.
It kind of looks like one of those hemorrhoid donuts, doesn’t it? Heh. Anyway, it forces you to sit up straight and use your abdominal muscles to hold your body upright or something. All I know is I only lasted a few hours. I guess I have to build up my spinal stamina!

nice duffel! love the fabric.
hehe, that cushion looks a lot hipper than the donut, the donut is too toiletty, this looks like a huge bike seat 🙂
Mariko, that bag looks super! And your “supereggplant” brand label makes it look so professional – have you ever thought about selling these? (Or are you already?)
At least that cushion thing is ‘pink’! I think I need one, but I don’t think I’d last even a coupla hours. Bag – very cute!
What a cute bag! Your creativity never ceases to amaze me.
That cushion looks pretty cool. I wonder if it would give you a six-pack if you sat on it long enough?
That duffle is adorable! Love the daisies!
I love your cute bag 🙂
Now the cushion thingie — Ugghhh! I had one of those evil things. My co-worker and I were so happy with our purchases. We gave them up after about 4 days. My stomach and stamina were not ready for that BUT I have a feeling that YOU will end up with fanastic abdominal muscles from using it.
Awesome duffel and great fabric! Let me know how that butt donut works out – I’m very curious…
Very nice duffel…and complete with tag. Tres Chic!
Keep us updated on the posture improver. I thought about getting the same one from Sissel but didn’t know if it actually worked!
What a cute bag! I am intrigued by the ab-cushion. I have no abdominal muscles at all. I wonder sitting on it would help me? Hm…
Really love the duffel bag! You never cease to amaze with your wonderful work! I had some pretty bad backpain during academic crunch time last semester and attributed it to hunching over my desk/computer. I thought about getting a swiss ball, but now that I’ve seen the SitFit, I may have found what I’m looking for! I could definitely use something that forces me to hold in my core at the desk.
Love the bag and very curious about the cushion.
I use the Sissel exercise ball instead of my office chair. My back thanks me! Otoh, on tired days, I use the regular chair.
That’s one adorable duffel. You make sweet totes!
Very inspiring. Do we get Duffels 101 on the sidebar??
I totally read that brand name as Sissy ShitFit. The duffel is very cute, my grandparents had a guest room done up in those colours, so it makes me think of going to the beach.
