A while back Megan (yes, cancer-killing Megan) asked me if I could make her some haircutting capes (cuz she is a hairdresser). I immediately had visions of wildly colored, swirling capes, but then when I voiced my excitement, she said to me, “Black would be fine.” I DON’T THINK SO, MISSY.
Okay, so I DID buy some black nylon, too. You can’t tell from the photo, but the design is a bunch of lines of dots. Very cool! The cape wasn’t too bad to create, but it took a while, because I had to carefully make and pin on miles and miles of bias tape. The horror! Anyway, I hope she likes it, even if it isn’t black. Maybe she can use it on the more unruly clients.

it looks like the model is doing the river dance in the first shot. who is that dark+handsome man anyway?
WooHoo! A sassy new cape. I’ll be the envy of the town 🙂
dude good thing you put up picture #2 becayse after only looking at the first one i was worried that pete was nude under there!!!!
Great cape! Looks like you did a super-fine job on the neckline. We have a cape that gaps at the neckline and lets in the hair! Haha! I loved the “I DON’T THINK SO, MISSY!” part! I often like to say that myself! Applying bias tape is not one of my favorite things, no matter how much effort I put into it.
You are so SUPER CRAFTY! You amaze me. Is there anything you can’t make?
The cape looks great. I thought the first shot was a mannequin until I saw the hairy legs. 🙂
Doesn’t your fancy bells & whistles sewing machine have a bias-tape applying guide thingie? Ooh, you so should’ve made her a really pink, pink, pink cutting cape :o)! Aren’t hairdressers supposed to be a little flambuoyant?
Hey hey hey! I emailed you earlier & I LOVE YOUR CAPE! thats wonderful! my new blog is kinda sorta up, although I couldnt figure out how to add your eggplant or the link to california knitters..I’m a blogging mess! 😀

now that I “know” you I’m going to comment more..hahaha
Awesome cape!
Nice cape! I’m sure Megan will love it, if she knows what’s good for her that is. Peter looks to be enjoying it, though did you cut his hair while he was in situ?
You did a wonderful job! I am sure she will love it.
