scan central

I got a scanner yesterday, and I am loopy for it! I want to scan everything now! I was going to show you a scan of Peter’s to-do list for today, but he rejected that idea. Hmph. So, here is a scan of some very cute fabric I received from the very generous Carolyn:

bonjour roosters.jpg

Cute, huh? Little rooster heads holding “bonjour” signs! Merci, mon amie!
And thank you all for your nice comments about the bags. I think I will throw caution to the wind and just auction them all off. My concern, you see, is I’m planning to start the bidding at a low amount, and I thought perhaps they’d end up selling for $1.40 or something, and I would end up losing money. I’m just going to be brave, though, and DO IT. I’ll try to get them up early next week, and you’ll be the first to know!
Have a good weekend, y’all. We’re heading up to the mountains for a couple of days, so no blogging.

Although I have never sold on Ebay, I am sure you can put a “starting bid” amount on them so that you don’t give them away!! You put lots of effort into them and when I see what some bags are going for on the internet at some shops, I am just over whelmed!!
Good luck, I think they are great!

Don’t start your bags too low! At least cover your cost plus some for labor.
I’m shopping for a scanner that will also scan old slides. We have a bunch from my husband’s childhood that we’d like to save. Does yours have that capacity? I’m looking for personal recommendations. Anyone, anyone?
That rooster fabric is cute…why, I have some myself! That Carolyn, she’s got good taste!

On Ebay, you can put a reserve amount, so that if the bidding doesn’t reach higher than that amount, you reserve the right not to sell the product. I think that could be a good way to make sure you get your money back.

i’ve sold on ebay before. you can either price them so that you are covered for supplies or have a reserve price. but ebay charges you extra for a reserve price. finally, as an ebay shopper, one thing i really like (and that i include in my ebay sales)is to include something called a “gallery picture.” it’s an extra 35 cents, but it’ll definitely improve your chances of people seeing your bags and wanting them (which they will) and then bidding on them like crazy people.

dude. if you put them up there for $1.40 i am going to fly out there and KICK your tiny japanese ASS.
you need to put starting bid around at least $5-$7 on the pouches and $10-$15 on the bags. at a BARE MINIMUM. and even that is probably a LOW BALL quote.
    $1.40. OH MY F’ING GOD.

I’ve been brainstorming what to do as a “thank you” for all my friends before I leave Japan & have settled on throwing a little tea/sweets party in my apartment. I’m trying to go SIMPLE…finger foods that won’t need plates…I knew I had seen good machya muffin & cookie recipes somewhere! Thanks!

Set the opening price a little above cost, there is no need for you to loose money! trust me someone will buy them and pay much more than you expect, never underestimate your talent, fom what I’ve seen they are expertly crafted and shouldnt be sold under value.

I don’t know how to sell stuff on ebay but your bags will definitely sell. Women love bags. It goes back to hunting & gathering. 🙂 We need bags for our nuts & berries, that’s all there is to it.

The bags are so cute. They will NOT go for $1.40. Seriously. I’ll be interested to see how high they go…I’ll bet when people see that they are Super Eggplant originals, the bidding frenzy will begin.
p.s. I may start the bidding frenzy.
