I decided to sew something today so I’d have something to blog about. Ha ha. So anyway, it gets pretty hot here in the summer, and last year I thought it’d be a good idea to make some T-shirt dresses. Cool and comfortable, right? I finally got around to getting some cotton knit fabric, and today I made this T-shirt dress:
The thing is, the fabric I got is quite heavy, which means it’s, um, really hot. Also, I am not crazy about the super wide neckline. I thought it’d be a more normal V-neck. Alas, it should be fine in more temperate weather and ideal for completing house chores.
The pattern is New Look 6374:
too bad it’s hot b/c it came out super cute! 🙂
i think the neck line is good. how do you find things that coordinate so perfectly?
Since it’s too hot for the summer heat, maybe it’ll be good for those cooler days or evenings. Love the socks and the shoes!
I’m starting to be bothered by the headless shots of you…I might have nightmares.
It’s the perfect dress for an ice cream party. All that frozen goodness might make you chilly!
I like it! It looks great with those shoes too. Maybe I need to get a pink pair in addition to red…
that fabric is perfect for you!
cute! strange the neck came out that way, it doesn’t look that big on the pattern!
love the matchy socks & shoes!
I had to laugh when I read it’ll be good for doing house chores. For some weird reason it made me think of Zsa-Zsa Gabor. Don’t ask how my brain works – it’s a mystery!
I ALWAYS have neckline issues with patterns for knit fabrics…it always seems to come out too wide. Most of the time, I end up cutting a shallower neckline, so I can trim it down later. 🙂
OMG! Your dress has matching socks and coordinating shoes! Fabulous. Maybe a lighter weight knit wouldn’t make the collar pull?
