Peter was just up in Portland, and he brought home some candies from my mother. She works in a little Japanese market there called Anzen.

I just returned from a trip to a convention to Portland, and had the good fortune to visit Anzen while I was there. What a wonderful store!
Love your blog–it’s so inspiring!
What type of candy is that exactly? I can read Soda Candy, but I can’t read the word before “Soda”. Every time I make a trip to the little Asian market, I always get some new piece of candy.
i always picture bread as being more on the morose side, myself. 🙂
is that a bread lollypop??
Did you see that Open Source Radio is doing a show on Candy? http://www.radioopensource.org/ear-candy/
I thought of you as soon as I saw that post.
oo, the bread candy is too cute! You might have to open a candy museum when you’re 93!
Oooooh! I love Mr. Breadhead!!
(de-lurking to say) Woah! I work a few blocks from Anzen. Small world!
Hey, Ramune candy! Awesome! But without the little marble to push in, I wonder if the flavor would taste as good.
Aw, such cute candy. I’m sure it’s delicious too! When was your bday? If I missed it, Happy Birthday!
That bread candy is Shokupanman, from the Anpanman anime! Cool! And nifty!
I love Anzen 😉
