busy week

It’s been kind of a crazy week around here, and I don’t think it’s going to ease up for a while. Here’s what’s been happening:
Friday: Peter has a phone interview from our hotel room in Santa Barbara with a high school in Portland
Sunday evening: Peter flies to Portland
Monday: Peter accepts the job
Tuesday: I pound a For Sale By Owner sign into the front lawn; Peter flies back
Wednesday: We get an offer on the house
Thursday: We put an offer on a house in Portland, and it is accepted
Okay, so we haven’t sold our house yet, so now I need to decipher these bridge loan forms and hope we qualify. Also, we are having a moving sale Saturday, and Peter is moving up to Portland on Monday. I will stay behind to pack and sell the house.
Here’s our newly acquired (assuming everything goes according to plan) house in Portland! Can you believe I haven’t even stepped foot in it yet?

So, I’ve only done the house-buying thing once, but have already developed a theory based on my experience . . . that it’s like the band-aid thing — the quicker it happens, the less painful it is in the long run. So yay for quick house-selling-and-buying, and I hope the new house is as adorable inside as it is from the curb!
