make banana cake!

So I finally turned on my oven for the first time since the beginning of summer, and I survived. The banana cake recipe is from a Penzey’s catalog. If you have not heard of Penzey’s, you are missing out, baby. They sell an array of spices–excellent quality at very reasonable prices (and you can even get relatively tiny portions). Their catalog has a lot of good, unpretentious recipes. I love Penzey’s! The banana cake recipe calls for a chocolate frosting, but I used cream cheese frosting instead. Now I am very full.

Which catalog is that? I couldn’t find a recipe for banana cake in that one, but it looks really good!
The first time all summer? Wow! I can’t blame you. Now that fall is fast approaching its time for baked goods including breads if you have the time you should try. Love baking bread when it’s cool and/or raining though the rising takes forever!
Cream cheese frosting is my fave! How did you know? Unfortunately, I’m still stuffed from the Indian meal we had last night. Pete always insists on ordering the bread basket and I always insist on eating the whole darn thing. It just has to be one of the more addictive eating experiences one can have. 🙂
