This is for Silvia:
In other news, I made a couple of holiday mini totes over the weekend, and I’m thinking about offering them up for sale here. I want to make a couple more before I unveil them, but hey, time is running out, and I don’t seem to get much sewing done during the week, so maybe I will just have two. We’ll see.
I am also thinking that next year, if I am still blogging and if there is any interest, it might be fun to have an online holiday craft bazaar? Before we moved to Portland, we lived where there weren’t many cool handmade crafts. Yes, there were holiday bazaars, but the offerings generally made me want to weep, and not from joy! So what do you think? Feedback appreciated.
An online craft bazaar sounds like so much fun!
I LOVE steamed bbq pork buns!!!! Lucky I’ll be back in Australia soon where they make yummy ones. Not like Japan.
Love the idea of an online holiday craft bazaar….I have my credit card ready!!
I took part in a craft fair just this weekend. The other participants had a whole lot of CRAP. Higher standards are necessary!
oooh! an online craft bazaar sounds great! looking forward to hearing more news. and the chinese bao looks yummy…in hawaii it’s called ‘manapua’ and there’s a baked manapua too. also assorted fillings, like chop suey, barbeque chicken, curry and i think a pizza one too…but my favorite is the char siu manapua.
I love the idea of an online holiday bazaar!
An online craft bazaar sounds like a great idea. I’d be interested in participating, with enough notice. (Should I consider this the notice?)
*If you’re still blogging*…please, no more of that.
Do NOT quit blogging! 🙁
An online holiday craft fair sounds like fun!
I would SO love to do the online craft bazaar…you’d better still be blogging.
An online holiday bazaar sounds like a great idea! There are so may online crafters making cool things, but it’s hard to find them sometimes. Do it!
Yeah, what is this ‘IF’ I’m still blogging stuff?
People will come and find you if you stop blogging.
I think the online bazaar is a great idea. xoxo Kay
An online craft bazaar sounds cool.
You temptress! I actually took a detour in SF the other day to get bao on Clement St. I ate TWO in the car! One of my friends “thought” she saw some frozen ones in the grocery store…we shall see.
Are you having blog burnout? Maybe you could start/join one of those group blogs…start a hip PDX crafty blog. That’d take the blog fodder pressure right off.
what about the Saturday market? i visited portland years ago, and i remember there being a nice crafts fair. maybe things have changed….
oh, and i love the bao also. monica brought some for me a few years ago, and they were very good.
Don’t you dare quit blogging. I mean it!
And an online craft bazaar sounds totally fun!
Delurking!! To say that the online craft bazaar is such a great idea. I’d want to join in, even from over here in New Zealand! I’ve been lurking around your blog for quite a while now, and really love it, so please don’t give up!
p.s I hope you don’t mind/think it’s a little strange, I added a link to you on my blog.
Yes! And also: mmm….bao….mm..
Super eggplant make- freecia buy. If the other super eggplanteers don’t buy it first.
ooo yes! an online bazaar sounds great! Just give some warning :O) and I’m there!
Thanks for all of your inspiration!
Three cheers for the online craft bazaar! I’m definitely interested.
Here in Colorado I’ve seen frozen bao (with the barbecue pork) in the grocery store…pretty sure it was the Safeway Select store brand. It was okay but nothing like what a friend made for me once–homemade was far tastier!
Yes, that sounds wonderful! I would love a holiday bazaar. And I’ve been known to take a long lunch break and drive to Oakland Chinatown for mid-day dim sum… always have to have a few of those buns, always. With the honey on top. Mmmm!
Mmmmmm…..bao are wonderful things 🙂
will you offer deedle themed goods for this bazaar?
*if* you are still blogging? Schwaaa?
I love tsa siu bao!!!!!!!! ok, that’s a slight lie, i like them ok but the best ones are with tsa siu middle and crispy outside!!!
I wouldn’t mind participating in an online bazaarrr!
I’ll ignore the “if I’m still blogging” comment and just say that I’ve craving pork buns like mad.
