Well, another year has come and gone! I don’t think I am going to make any resolutions this year, except maybe to get healthy. Anyway, a year certainly can’t end without some sweets! A few weeks ago Melissa and I were talking about a childhood treat: pudding with a thin layer of chocolate on top. Since she is a genius, she did some research and discovered that it was Jell-O Spoon Candy! She also found a recipe. Mmmmmm.
Read on for the recipe …
You can find the recipe I used here.
SPOON CANDY
——————–
One box Jell-O vanilla instant pudding
2 cups milk (to make the pudding)
12 squares of Dove Promises milk chocolate
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Make the instant pudding according to the directions and divide among four dessert dishes. Refrigerate about an hour.
Combine the chocolate and the oil in a double boiler (I just put them in a small pot and set it over another pot filled with simmering water). Melt, stirring constantly, until smooth. Pour a tablespoonful on the pudding then swirl the dish around so the chocolate covers the entire surface in a nice layer. Repeat with the other dishes. Refrigerate about 10 minutes until chocolate hardens.
Now that’s something I don’t remember seeing before…yum!
A happy, happy New Year to you and Peter!
i remember thinking that was the most positively decadent thing ever when i was a kid. although i probably didn’t use ‘decadent’. and that was pre-creme brulee knowledge.
happiest of new years to you and your family!
I never had this as a child but I sure will make it for my own kids! 😉 Thanks and happy new year!
