Chico Hayasaki was a Japanese foreign exchange student at our high school a bazillion years ago. The funny coincidence is that I stayed at her family’s house during a high school trip to Japan. Anyway, she is now an incredible artist, and she seems to be doing very well, exhibiting her artwork in Japan and New York City. Check out this cute little teeny bag of hers. I think she designed the fabric, too!
And I don’t know how old this nutty little rug is, but my mother brought it over the other day and asked me to bind the edges.
that’s a cute rug! i used to do latch hook too when i was young. i bet it’s the next thing to make a come back. 🙂
Wow, that is one totally nuts latch hook. I’d be willing to be either the latch hook or at least the kit is from a fair number of years ago!
I could never figure out what to do with the completed latch hook rugs. I occassionally see those little packets of short thread at the thrifts and I fantasize about connecting about 20 latch hook kits to make a giant ugly rug.
that is such a daft rug! Love it.
That is one awesome latch hook rug.
Thanks for sharing that link — how fun is her website?! And the bag and fabric are cute too.
I am now dying due to overcute rug exposure.
Oh my, you brought back memories of when I used to make latch hook “rugs” with my sister!
Oooo. Latch hooking. I’m having a ’70’s flashback….
