VERY EGG-SIGHTING NEWS for all you US-based Tim Tam lovers out there! Lori mentioned that Cost Plus World Market purportedly sells Tim Tams, so I immediately got on the horn and called our local store for further information. IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED. The store DOES carry Arnott’s Tim Tams, but they are sold under a different name. I don’t know what this other name is, but heck, just look for the package with the chocolate-covered biscuits. Apparently it is not out of the norm for Tim Tams to sport pseudonyms. Read about that here. If you are clamoring for the special Tim Tam flavors, you are in luck. There are several vendors in the US that offer Aussie goodies, including About Australia. They also carry Smith’s potato chips (Carolyn‘s favorite) and Cheezels.

hmmm…i wonder if we’ll get those in hawaii…a couple weeks ago on my blog i posted picture of my daughter’s candy stash she requested from new zealand, and of course tim tam was right up there! too bad she can’t get their ice cream ;9
i went on my mission to world market yesterday. the package looks just the same except it says “biscuits” or “chocolate biscuits” (damn it i cannot remember which — just ‘biscuits’ i think) and there are pictures of tim tams on both sides of the text, not just on the right as on the boxes from Oz. (BUT ORIGINAL FLAVOR ONLY) otherwise it looks pretty much exactly the same.
i’m just pissed no one has offered up the perfect brandy snap recipe we are looking for…
Yay for Lori! It’s where I go for my Hobnobs (choc-dipped oatmeal biscuits), and I’ll be adding TimTams to my cart next time!
Squeee! Last time I had TimTams, I had to arrange a knit goods for chocolate trade with a guy Down Under. There’s a World Market less than eight miles from my house here in North Carolina – I’ll definitely check this out. Thanks for the heads up!
I love Tim Tams ever since Arnott’s decided to discontinue the Fruit & Nut.
But we only get the Original, Dark Chocolate and Double Coat in Singapore. Haven’t seen the Latte version yet!
I am overwhelmed with love for you and MJ. Now I can get Tim Tams and Hob Nobs without having to order them online! SQUUUEEEEEE!
Hehe, I’m in Australia so I can get Tim Tams whenever I want!
I found your blog ages ago with your tote bag tute, but have just come back and loved reading your posts about Australia! And yes parrots are very normal here 🙂 Also, thanks for mentioning the patchwork shop in Melbourne, I didn’t realise you could get such cool fabrics here!
Heh, I think I’m the only Aussie alive who doesn’t like tim-tams *hides* 😛 Too rich for me! Although I do send a few to everyone I send swap packages to, because they are apparently so fabulous! LOL 🙂
You should try and get some Arnotts “Mint Slice”..very much on a par with the tim tams.
I’m in Melbourne.
AWESOME!! Now if only we could get a Cost Plus in NYC. I have to tell my business partner about this — she’s from Australia and misses those things. Thanks for the news.
