mmmmmm, pie

Who doesn’t love a good piece of pie?

I love cafeteria-style establishments. These pies plus fresh strawberry shortcake are available at Tebo’s in Gladstone, Oregon.

If I hadn’t just had a really good slice of pie that picture would kill me.
I see from the map that Gladstone is halfway between Portland and Canby (home of Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival). I’ll have to remember that in September.

My already overfull belly says she doesn’t want any, but I say she does. Who needs a waistline anyway?

Hi from Austria! Oh, you made my mouth all watery now – such yummy pies!

  4. Rachel says:

Tebo’s! We would go there for dinner with my grandparents and *always* get the strawberry shortcake! That place will probably never change.

I love Tebos! I grew up in Milwaukie and I still go there with my grandma every time I come home for a visit. Now I REALLY want some strawberry shortcake.

  9. Hey, I know Tebos! I’ve been there many times over a period of 20 or so years. I think they’ve actually been open for…about 25 to 30 years. Anyway, when I visited my mom who lives in Gladstone last summer we went there for some strawberry shortcake one evening. I gotta say that I was a little disappointed – not in the strawberry shortcake – but in the PLACE. It seemed really noisy, messy, and not very clean. It wasn’t a very pleasant experience as a result. But really, there’s nothing like going to Tebo’s on a spring evening and having a hamburger and then pie. Yum.
And here’s some trivia about Tebo’s. “Tebo’s” stands for Ted and Bob the two men who originally started it, although I don’t think they still own it. AND, many many years ago – about 40 or so – Ted’s family lived just down the street from OUR family on Pinehurst Road (in Milwaukie/Oak Grove). AND Ted had a daughter who’s name was Misha. And she was my best friend. So there. I wonder where Misha is now.
