It’s been really toasty here in Portland; so toasty, in fact, that today I wore a sleeveless top. It’s supposed to be about 20 degrees cooler tomorrow, so all should be well. The town in California we moved from is super hot every day all summer long, so I feel I should not complain about the Portland heat wave. Anyway, hot weather is perfect for the summer skirt, is it not? I made this one over the weekend:
Now it’s time to head to the basement to cool off and do some more sewing!
What’s a gore? Very cute skirt, gore or no gore!
Cute, cute skirt! And I love your goodies from the last post, the fabrics are amazing.
Ah ha! You are a sleeveless top wearing gal! =) CUTE skirt. I love that pattern.
I saw that pattern (and a skirt made from it) at Bolt and thought it looked super.
Nice skirt! Glad the weather is cooling down, too. Thought I’d left 100+ days back in CA, but at least now we know the a/c works in the new house.
I have been cranking out these skirts this summer. I LOVE this pattern. Last night I tried the gored version–I guess it was too late at night to start because I sewed the wrong sides together : (
Oh, I’m in *love* with your skirt. Do you think it would be a manageable pattern for someone like me, whose sewing skills are still in the beginner stage? I’ve been looking all over for an elastic-waist skirt that’s both comfy and stylish – this is it!
Another winner.
i love this skirt. as a matter of fact, i have this pattern and i have yet to use it! now that i see how cute it turns out, i will be sitting down to make a skirt!!
Gores are little triangular-shaped inserts that make a skirt all fluttery at the hem.
Nice skirt!
oh very nice!! and I hope you are hanging in there! it’s a hot one!
That pattern is great!! I clicked through and really love a lot of the variations on the site too. I am so gonna make one.
your blog is so much fun to read, thank you!
I found some old 60’s dress (a-line & empire) patterns at a garage sale and thought of you with your retro sewing. interested? They’re not as neat as some of your stuff, and they’re size 12 I think, from 1969.
I bought this pattern after talking with you. I love it too. I made one and my sister in law has made a few!
This is my first time viewing your Blog. Very nice indeed. We live in the East of USA, I have never heard of this pattern.” Favorite Things”. Where did you guys buy it? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you, Rita
