time to go hedgehog wild

Attention, shoppers! We’ve posted an update to superbuzzy that includes both new items and restocks. You’ll be pleased to know that we have some hedgehog fabric back in stock, and we have three colorways!

We also got in some really cool waffle weave with cute vintage kitchen utensils:

It’s 85% cotton and 15% linen and would make great dish towels (remember that the holidays are coming up!).
There are some additional colorways in the vintage bingo tickets, milk bottle caps, and feedsack reproduction, too. Here’s the milk bottle caps on a chocolate background:

There are several more items, including ladybug trim and frog fabric, so please check out the shop if you have a chance! Also, please note that orders placed after Tuesday probably will not ship until the week of November 12 (I will try to ship anything that is ordered on Wednesday, but I’ll also be busy packing, so I can’t make any promises!).
Happy Halloween!

Hey, Mariko – I just placed a Superbuzzy order so I would be sure and get the fabric I wanted. But if you don’t get it out before you leave, it’s O.K. Most of it is a Christmas present for my daughter. Love the hedgehogs and ladybugs! Have a great trip & bring back lots of fun stuff for us to buy. We don’t need no stinking money!

I really liked your site until almost every single post started being about superbuzzy. I don’t like constantly being advertised too, but I do like the things you make (i.e. the content of pre-superbuzzy posts).
Sorry to be a party-pooper, but I wanted to let you know that you’re probably losing some of your readers who don’t count themselves among your “shoppers”.

As opposed to the reader above, I have no issue with the Supperbuzzy updates. That is a part of who you are and what you do. If you blog about what you love (and it’s obvious you love being able to provide people with quality Japanese craft products), then the readers will follow. I’ve only purchased from the shop once (sorry, tight budget) but that doesn’t stop me from reading this blog. Blogging should never be about # of readers anyhow…do what you want, girl! And have fun in Japan.

Wow. What’s up with the negativity? I’ve had a couple of blogs and I’ve never seen it as anything but some extension of myself; I write about what’s important in MY life, without all that much thought for my readership. I think that’s true of many bloggers, crafty or otherwise. Obviously superbuzzy is a huge, important venture for you and I think it’s great that you’ve been able to share it with us all. I’ve never seen any of this as an advertisement and frankly in this day and age of mass marketing I’ve found it really fascinating to see the human side of a small business in action.
Keep up the great work and have a blast in Japan! I can’t wait to hear about it.
