At long last, the Becky Wannabe sweater is complete! I finished seaming it yesterday while watching Lagaan. It’s subtitled, so I wasn’t really paying attention. I did have to watch the catchy dance numbers, though. The sweater turned out fairly well. At first I didn’t think I liked the fit, since I don’t generally like super fitted sleeves (also, I don’t know what made me think seaming the sleeves using the crochet method would be a good idea. It took forever!), but I think I will like it as time goes on. Here are two views:
You can see what I mean about the sleeve/shoulder area. Also, the sweater is a tad short, but I am wearing hyper low low-rise jeans in the picture, so the shortness factor is heightened. I followed the pattern exactly, I was on gauge, and I am short, so I’m not sure what happened with the length.
We purchased Halloween candy today. We generally get around 200 kids, so I usually start stocking up early. This year I have been busy, and I am going to be in Portland for Halloween, anyway, so I just bought it all at once. Poor Peter will have to hand out the candy solo. I think this will be enough:

Sweater is da bomb baby! I love those colors. They make me think things.
Didja see my post a day back? It’s an odious ode to a barkless dog. Inspired by your recent post. Tag blogging, I call it.
Your Becky sweater looks fab! A+!
the sweater is great! I can’t wait to finish knitting for the other half’s soon-to-be-born nephew, so I can finish mine up already!
I love your Becky sweater. The blue really pops, I really like that…heck woman, you are petite, a shorter sweater looks good on you.
i can’t believe you’re done!! speedy!!! looks good. maybe somebody i will follow in your footsteps with a finished sweater.
Hmmm. So you’re thinking the sweater is too short? What does yours measure from the hem to the armhole seam? Did the measurement change before and after blocking? Mine is 32.5 cm before blocking, and I deliberately shortened it a bit. Perhaps that wasn’t so smart. Speaking of not smart, did I wash my swatch…..NO! Bad claudia….
Becky looks beau-ti-mous! Great job 🙂
So you’re heading back to Portland so soon again, already? (as my mother-in-law used to say). I’m jealous (sniff) but hope you have a great trip!
It looks fantastic!
Love the sweater, but I am slayed by the idea of 200 kids!!! A couple of years ago, I got *three* trick-or-treaters, and one of those was a very big grown man claiming to be out of gas!
The Becky sweater turned out great! I think the fit looks wonderful on you.
lil beck turned out very nice! the fit is perfect. what are you going to work on next?
Hahaha. You’ll be up here and we only get 100. Fewer if it rains.
Becky Wannabee is supercute! You will get lots of compliments on it, I bet. So what’s next?
200 trick-or-treaters? WOW. I don’t get any. Must be city life.
That looks fabulous! It’s not too short at all, show us that girlish figure! In fact, if I was you I’d break into some of that Halloween candy…but that’s just me.
I love the blue in the Becky Wannabe, and the neckline is perfect for you!
I miss giving out candy. I haven’t had trick-or-treaters in 8 years. Are you SURE you bought enough? Because that whole bag of Reese’s would be gone by now, if it were me.
Your sweater rocks! The Becky Wannabe is on my list as well — maybe someday,…
Looks great! Wear those low, low risers (why are they called risers?) while you can, baby. 🙂
Hey, awesome, you finished the wannabe! I really like how it came out. Looks like a great fit on you. If you can wear snug (and you can!) then you should. Hope you end up really liking it.
