This gave me an idea! I am totally putting a blurb about Peeps on my English Board next month. I have been desperate for new items and this is going to be a great one!
Yeah! Let me at ’em. You know, in our household, we actually prefer stale Peeps, so buying them now means that they’ll just be getting to our perfect stage about Easter – or maybe Mother’s Day. Thanks for the tip!
already!? i actually saw online that there were heart peeps for valentine’s day….or was it a dream?….
Mmmm stale aqua peeps. Does it get any better than that? YUM.
Mariko, have you seen this?

what a hoot!
yipee! and Cadbury mini eggs as well. It is the most wonderful time of the year.
I love that the easter candy hits the shelves on February 15 — you get your choice of new easter candy that’ll surely go stale before easter (so you’ve got to eat it now) or discounted v-day candy. It’s a win-win!
Totally off the subject, but you were the first person I thought of when I found this site:

Click on the books link. All Japanese craft books!
I’ve never head of Peeps but I think I need some 🙂

Are you an official spokespeepson?
Is it Peep season already!!!!!!!
Mmmmmm Peeps!
And this year I see they have green peeps, which I swear are new. Or maybe I’m making that up.
There are valentine heart shaped peeps (but they are flavored an icky artificial flavor) and there are halloween ghost and cat shaped peeps and christmas tree and gingerbreadman shaped peeps. I think there was also a “create a valentine” peeps kit this year.
I love peeps. They must be stale, preferably yellow chicks (and white ghosts; I’m torn on the christmas peeps).
I do think the green peeps are new. Peeps and cadbury mini-eggs. The only easter candy you need.
Green Peeps! I haven’t seen those before. Those giant chicks on the bottom shelf are new to me too. They aren’t on the official site yet, what are they?
I’ve heard you go on about these for a couple of years, and I guess it’s time to buy some and re-visit the past. My, you are bad news for my waistline!
My sisters buy these en masse, store them up and let them get “nice and stale” and then eat them for months to come. YUCK! No accounting for some people’s taste 🙂
This is the first year I have ever seen the green peeps and I have fallen in love with them!
Peeps are one of my fav candies! I love to open the package and let them get firm (I hate to say stale because they aren’t stale…for me, that makes them just right!).
I am a long time lurker. Love your blog and yours tuts are the bestest!!
I love coming here to look at things. I don’t have any knitting talent and I do not have a sewing machine, either (although I do knit scarves that I give away to friends and then I never see them wear them again *sigh*)Hmmm. Maybe it’s time for a new craft? Any ideas for a simpleton?
By the way…the green peeps *are* cute. KayBee Toys sells squishy-pillow “peeps”. They are about the size of a small teddy bear and quite squishy.
Mmm, Peeps! I haven’t had one in… 21 years, I think – but I still remember the lovely texture (and ensuing sugar high)!
Cocoa Bunny Peeps? Oh maaaaaaaaan. They don’t have that variety around here. Although I have seen the decorate your own peeps eggs.
Thanks for the update I do love me some Peeps and Creme Eggs. If Peeps are there the Cadburry Creme Eggs are too. Oh here is another fun link…
