I was at the giant Asian supermarket today buying candy, and I found some matcha pudding cups. It was a foil bag, so I couldn’t see the individual pudding cups. I figured the package probably contained two or three cups. Imagine my surprise (and glee) when I discovered it contained these teeny little cups.

Oh I adore you and you’re odd foodstuffs. The gelatinous is definitely a no go area for me, so kudos to you for your texture non-issues. Those puddins’ are very cute and look like jam packs at diners.
Oooh, they are super cute. I miss playing supermarket roulette in Tokyo and getting surprises like that. I’ll have to find a good Japanese supermarket here in Sydney.
That’s what I want for my birthday. Do you have a left over? Looks yummy! Can’t wait to see you 🙂
I love japanese pudding – one of my favorite desserts ever! You described the texture perfectly – gelatinous yet flaccid. I bet that one was super delicious!
is that a blush brush next to the bowl of pudding on the lid?
It looks like you recovered from the rotary cutter incident?
Mmm, matcha, I was with you until “solid (yet flaccid)”
Did you see that Superbuzzy got a mention on the “Print & Pattern” blog?
YUM. I love matcha anything. I will have to search for that at Nijiya market.
I will have to look for these at my Asian super market!
I too love anything matcha, so I was delighted to discover Matcha Green Tea yogurt at Trader Joe’s last week. I was pleasantly surprised, given my disappointment with the matcha cupcake mix they also carry. The yogurt was thicker than normal yogurt and smooth, like greek yogurt. It could be more matcha-y, but I really enjoyed it.
Ohh, those look so good Mariko! So cute! 🙂
