caffeine: friend or foe?

Hey! Sorry for my long absence. I’ve been busy trying to catch up on orders, and to all of you customers out there waiting for your packages, thanks for being patient! We are working as quickly as we can, and hey, we’d better be quicker, because I have TEN boxes of fabric waiting in my living room, and I am expecting quite a few more this week. Yup, superbuzzy is going to drain your wallets (here’s a teaser–fairy tale fabrics part deux!)

So anyway, one of the only things that is keeping me going at this point is coffee. Peter and I switched to decaf several years ago, but a couple months ago I started sneaking some regular coffee into my decaf (shhh, Peter doesn’t know), just enough to, ya know, perk me up. Now it’s moving into iced coffee season, and wonderful superbuzzy helper Melissa just introduced me to Stomping Grounds, which makes espresso concentrate! You just splash in some milk and ice, and voila, iced coffee! It’s quite tasty. I still kind of want to get a toddy, but until I do, I’m sticking with this concentrate.

Yum! I’ve been having trouble with coffee lately, but man, an iced coffee would be good (not right now, it’s only 8:30am!) Hmm…

the toddy is awesome for the summer. i am in florida so cold coffee is essential… the toddy coffee is so so good and i love the whole setup with the brewer part and the convenient carafe.

oh! i didn’t know you switched to decaf. now i feel bad like i’m leading you down a dangerous path. a tasty path, but a dangerous one.

Caffeine… definitely in the “foe” department. I switched to half a cup of half caf/half decaf in the morning and I feel SOOOOO much better. No more anxiety attacks. No more morning grouch and withdrawal headaches. Yes, your body actually wakes up naturally. Don’t get sucked back in!

I just recently converted to the toddy and I have to say that it’s pretty handy. Since I live alone, I have a hard time figuring out just how much coffee to make. With a toddy I can just make it as I need it and don’t waste anything. Plus on those mornings when I’m real braindead it’s as easy as heating up some water.

Caffeine, must have caffeine. That concentrate looks delicious.

I recommend the three-cup stove-top Italian espresso makers.
It is fast, cheap, and very good for iced coffee.
One cup of espresso is rumoured to have 1/8th the caffeine of a tall regular coffe at Starbucks.

A really good way to make tempting lip smacking coffee.
Take a spoon of cofee powder and a spoon of sugar with little water ( so that they dip in it) and stirrrr…stirrr with a spoon till it froths., Add hot milk to it – dont stir after that – yummy 😛
