Stop the presses! I actually made something!
All right, so it’s just a little crocheted scrubbie, but since I don’t really know how to crochet, and I don’t really know how to decipher Japanese crochet diagrams, it WAS somewhat of an accomplishment. I keep forgetting to use it when I wash dishes, so I am unsure of its effectiveness. The pattern is from
this book.
I also baked the delicious Rhubarb Blueberry Crumble from
Amy‘s mailorder.
I find it difficult to say “rhubarb blueberry” so I’ve just started calling it “rhuberry.” I think I needed more tart rhubarb, but other than that it was very tasty. All of Amy’s recipes are splendid. I need to get all my baking in, since I am going to be without a kitchen for the entire summer beginning this Saturday. We’re remodeling. It’ll be chaotic, but I already live in chaos, and this means I don’t have to cook, so I can’t complain.
Your scrubbie looks super, Super Eggplant! I like how the green in it matches the pickle on the glass 😉
yum! that rhuberry crumble looks ono! i have that same scrubbie book – just picked it up recently – did you use cotton yarn or acrylic? your scrubbie looks like cotton, but the ones in the book look like acrylic…do you think it matters?
Your scrubby is so cool! I would love to make one like that. Love the fresh citrus colours.
cute, cute scrubbie! Glad you got a bit of crafting time in! Did you do this atop the gazillion boxes of fabric in your home? I can’t get that image out of my head – I picture you eating at atop them, lounging atop them, just trying not to be buried by them…. 😉
I like your scrubbie, too! And, “rhuberry?” Genius!
Too funny. I can’t say rhubarb blueberry either. Rhuberry is so much better! Good luck on the remodeling. Boy – the lengths some people will go to just to get out of cooking in the summer! Hehehe.
You are making an awful lot of crochet for saying you can’t crochet! Very cute though I’d be afraid to spoil it on dirty dishes.
And that rhuberry crumble looks delicious!
Wouldn’t it be super cool if a cute scrubby made it into your brothers’ luggage and made a home in my kitchen??!!! How great would that be?!!!
Good luck this summer…I’m afraid to visit 🙂
Cooking in the summer is over-rated. You must gril out! 🙂 Best time to remodel your kitchen is summer, imo.
Damn. Bad timing. If you were remodeling when we’d already moved out there, I could have maybe lured you to our kitchen to bake there.
Good luck with the remodel. All summer–it must be quite a big job. We remodeled our kitchen two years ago and funny, I can’t remember the painful parts any more…
how cute! now if only i felt like doing dishes!
