Egg-ceptional and eggs-traordinary

I try not to buy kitchen gadgets that are mono focused. They just take up a lot of unnecessary space, and really, how often do you use gadgets that can be used for only one thing (okay, the espresso machine is an exception). That said, I just couldn’t resist this Chef’s Choice Egg Cooker. We’ve been eating a ton of eggs lately. I eat a hard-boiled egg every morning for breakfast, and Peter has been on his soft-boiled egg kick. I know it’s not that hard to make hard-boiled eggs, but I have been more pressed for time in the mornings as of late, so okay, that’s how I justified the purchase. I have no regrets whatsoever. This sucker makes perfect hard-boiled eggs, and it also makes great poached eggs! We never used to have those at home, but now we routinely have poached eggs and toast for lunch. Or dinner. Or breakfast. I heart my bulbous egg cooker. And that is my consumeristic note of the day. Thank you, and have a nice weekend.

    That’s a cool kitchen gadget. I never knew they existed – but I think this one is definitely a worthwhile purchase.

    oh good lord i totally want it.
    and ps can’t you use your espresso machine to steam other things like milk for hot chocolate or apple cider to make it hot. 😉

    I could eat poached eggs every day except on days when I would eat a soft-boiled egg. May have to look into this futuristic gadget. Open the pod bay doors Hal!

    PS I went to Zabar’s to buy a rice cooker because I always burn the brown rice, but they were so gigantic that I didn’t get one. They never used to be so big!

    mmm – I love hard boiled eggs! I’ve been looking for something to do for breakfast – that might just be the trick. That is one cool egg cooker…

    I have the Cuisinart version. It’s shaped like an egg and I love it. I call it my “egg robot”. Would the robot like to make you eggs?
